Deliverance of Ballet

From the 1400's at the time of the renaissance Italy's Dukes did much to promote the arts. From their lavish courts masked and costumed couriers entertained the beginnings of ballet. Women wore heavy wigs, full heavy skirts with tight corsets and shoes with heels, all of which restricted bending and movement. The Italian princess Catherine de Medici married the French Henry ll and introduced ballet to the Court of France. It was in 1730 that dancers rebelled and took to air. They jumped ,leaped and donned looser clothes revealing artistic form and expression and the grace of swans.

The rapid flight of the dove symbolize the deliverance as the Pale Pink Rose implies grace, gentleness and joy often represented by the ballerina.
